Not Exactly Kindred Spirits

As I prattled about my home office this morning, occasional but distant noise that sounded like live performers caused me to listen and wonder if perhaps there was some special adult gathering going on at the local elementary school, which is little less than a kilometer walk.

Hours later, after surveying Washington Street to see if a wild bunny had crossed safely among moving cars, I unexpectedly came upon the source: Protesters along El Cajon Blvd between Georgia and Florida streets on Kindred Hospital property. They walked in circles, waving placards yelling various chants. Among them: “Kindred you can’t hide. We can see your greedy side”. “Union! Power!” Their intention is clear: If there are no union contracts, the facility should close. Oh my.
