Wikipedia has been under fire since a prankster changed an entry for John Lawrence Seigenthaler, which indicated that he was involved in the assassination of former senator Robert Kennedy. The change has since been corrected.
I’m big fan of Wikipedia, which got a wee bit of a reprieve yesterday. Nature released details of a study that indicated, at least for the sciences, accuracy was on par with Encyclopedia Britannica. Scientists evaluated text in blind tests, meaning they didn’t know the source. Wikipedia’s average error per science entry was four compared to four for Britannica.
