Bad Could Be Worse

With the president’s approval rating at a new low—how’s 60 percent disapproval of his performance—I just have to point out things could be worse.

In the April 28/May 5 Entertainment Weekly, Stephen King (he’s from Maine, too, just more famous), writes about his “Morning People”, meaning the news folks. Hint: He doesn’t watch “Today” and won’t miss Katie Couric.

Anyway, he writes: “The primary order of each day’s business is—for me, at least—to make sure none of the world’s major cities blew up during the night and that Mr. Bush did not choke to death on his own syntax, thus making Dick Cheney (known in my family as Darth Maul) president”.

Are Stephen’s horror stories as scary?
