Flickr a Day 128: ‘Sleepy Raccoon’

Italian Riccardo Palazzani is a Star Trek fan, not that you would ever guess from his personal website. His photostream is more down to earth, and today’s selection is typical. He prefers nature to people, but shoots both with equal appeal. He captured self-titled “Procione Sonnolento”, which translates to “Sleepy Raccoon”, on May 1, 2014, using Olympus E-3 and 70-300mm f/4-5.6 lens. Vitals: f/7.1, ISO 100, 1/320 sec, 211mm.

A year later, he shoots the Olympus E-620. Both cameras use the Four Thirds system (not Micro). Sensor size is smaller (17.3 × 13.0 mm) than the typical APS-C type (25.1 × 16.7 mm) found in dSLR bodies but still considerably larger than compacts. Riccardo remains active on Flickr, which he joined in December 2009. He captured today’s selection at the Faunistic Park Le Cornelle. He lives in Brescia.
