After months of anticipation—mainly because construction seemed to go on forever—the Pop Pie Co. finally opened for business late-September 2016 here in San Diego’s University Heights neighborhood. Sometime later came the terrific art you see here on the backside of the building facing away from main thoroughfare Park Blvd. Seems like every time I wanted to make a picture, harsh sunlight cast offensive shadows. But yesterday, the morning was heavily overcast, creating the opportunity long waited for.

As for the shop, I’ve never eaten there but have ordered and picked up food for family members a couple times. Pie ranges from main meals, like chicken pot, to classic desserts apple crumble and strawberry rhubarb, among others. Yum!
