From a Hole a Tree Grows

Award-winning photography this ain’t, nor is it meant to be. I composed to capture two things referenced in past posts—the little library box on Maryland Ave. (near Monroe) and a tree that replaced an older one cut down on July 26, 2017. Next day, landscapers planted the sapling, which grows robustly about 10 weeks later.

I had meant to shoot a quickie and update what happened following the earlier “chainsaw” post; approaching Halloween finally flicked action. A face adorned the old tree, giving it Land of Oz or Middle Earth aura (pick your fantasy land) and year-round Spook-fest/trick-or-treat charm. I captured the Featured Image, using Leica Q, yesterday at 11 a.m. PDT. Vitals, aperture manually set: f/5.6, ISO 100, 1/400 sec, 28mm.
