Flickr a Week 45: ‘Foggy Morning’

Our Wednesday selection, self-titled “Foggy Morning“, is a metaphor for the United States, following yesterday’s Presidential election. Many things are unclear, which makes the title appropriate. More importantly: The photo, which Sarah Horrigan captured on July 10, 2012 using Canon EOS 50D and EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens, soothes with its calm, misty composition. Many Americans need something visually relaxing and hopeful to counter days of mayhem and perhaps more to follow, particularly if one or both candidates litigates to the Supreme Court. Vitals: f/3.5, ISO 400, 1/60 sec, 50mm.

Sarah describes herself: “Originally from Gloucestershire, England; then to Tallebudgera Valley, Queensland, Australia; then back to England and deepest darkest rural Leicestershire; now living and working in Nottingham. Isn’t life a funny old journey?” She joined Flickr in May 2007 but hasn’t updated her Photostream for nearly a year.
