The house where lived Pepe—and Levi may still be—changed for the better during the SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2)/COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. The family homeschools now, and that was a decision prompted in part by public classrooms being closed for about 14 months. Perhaps in preparation for inflationary times ahead, and lots of other uncertainties, the homeowners filled their front yard with flowers and food-producing plants. Walking past today, the spectacle of an enormous sunflower made me stop and pull out Leica Q2. While edited, the Featured Image is composed as shot. A towering sunflower like this one makes me imagine human-eating plants—such as those from sci-fi classic “Day of the Triffids“, written by John Wyndham. As for the aforementioned felines, they appeared in my “Cats of University Heights” series—in March and July 2017, respectively.
