Last night, I set up the Galaxy S23 Ultra, using Samsung’s Smart Switch app. I connected the new smartphone to the older (S22 Ultra) and followed the prompts. What a superbly smooth process followed. Sometime in the next day or two, I will pack up and ship the other device, as per my trade-in agreement.

Considering ongoing overtures of war, as the United States spars with China and substantially backs Ukraine against Russia, I wondered: Will helmets like this someday soon be as standard wear as were surgical masks during the SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2)/COVID-19 lockdown period? Call the moment unwanted foreshadowing.
The second shot from the S23 Ultra is an unplanned juxtaposition to the first. Flowers grew into being symbols of peace (and pacifism) for Americans protesting the Vietnam War, during the late-1960s and early-1970s. Perhaps you’ve heard of flower power and flower children. Presentation here, accompanying the helmet, is more happenstance. The vibrant orange petals caught my attention today—the lovely delight growing where it had not been planted.
