Nyokki

Couple weeks back, my daughter and I discovered cute egg pet plant Nyokki on one of the Japanese retail Websites. We almost ordered one, if not for shipping that would have cost more than the critter.

Nine days ago, while downtown on the National Mall, we found Nyokki for sale at the Smithsonian’s Freer Museum gift shop. We couldn’t resist.

Anyway, Nyokki has grown a rather lush head of grass, which makes him all the cuter. He’s a real smile generator. I snapped the picture of him, in poor lighting and background (cluttered desk) with the Nikon D200. I made some adjustments using Apple iPhoto (because it was handiest). My overall satisfaction with the camera remains high. By the way, Nyokki means grow in Japanese.
