CNN has a story claiming MySpace helped foil a school shooting. Last week I said that MySpace isn’t the problem the news media has made it out to be. Heck, any place high schoolers can organize protests against immigration reform can’t be that bad.
Now, if critics rapped MySpace for bad taste, I’d be cheering “yeah”. C`mon, are there any MySpaces, except for some by musicians, that aren’t garish? Bad taste in design is like standard. It’s the ticket to the community. And the garish design goes back to why people fuss too much about MySpace. Who the heck—parents, predators or principals—could read the text on the sites, anyway?
