Well, days after completing a big work project, I’m still playing catchup on reading. Fortunately, my RSS reader caught and retained lots of good stuff—like this: A Thursday Wired story about a Russian spammer beating on Blue Security. I get blog comment spam from the same source, or so I’m convinced, at least a few times a week.
So far, most of my blog comment spam comes from four sources—and three look related: The Russian spammer and IP addresses from Africa, Central America and Amsterdam. I’ve never used Blogspot, but some of the comment spam uses what appear to be legitimate Blogspot addresses that forward to pharmacy phishing sites. So far, WordPress has sidelined all the comment spam to the moderation queue, so none has appeared on blog.
Yet. Right now, it’s more nuisance than anything.
