While this series favors candid and street photography, often the most challenging art is produced in the studio. “This shot honestly took almost an hour-and-a-half to get perfect’, Robby Mueller says of self-titled “Nerf Gun FUN”—and “pretty pleased with the results”. He captured today’s selection on July 28, 2009, using the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT with 18-55mm lens and accompanied by AlienBee lights—”AB800 bottom left [and] AB400 top right”.
His thing is portraiture—of the young and beautiful—and he has helluva an eye for getting the model. Robby, who is based in Los Angeles, joined Flickr in April 2008, but he is no longer active on the service. His personal website, Instagram, and Tumblr are more current. I encourage you to compare the Day taker with some of the newer work to see how marvelously his style has evolved. In 2015, you will find the 24 year-old photographer shooting with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II.
