Flickr a Day 256: ‘Italy’

Our Sunday selection is from Moyan Brenn. You must spend time in his photostream. He has such an eye for composition. His view counts are high for a reason. But, sigh, shooters like this make picking a pic pure torture. After selecting self-titled “Meditation“, I last-minute changed to “Italy”, which doesn’t describe what the image really is about.

“Capri, view of the popular Blue Cave or Blue Grotto, situated in the northwest side of the island, in the region of Campania, Italy”, he explains. “This place can be visited by taking a boat trip around the island or toward the cave itself, and once arrived there, there are small gondolas available that must be paid with an extra fee”.

Moyan used Nikon D7000 and 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6 lens to capture the photo, which takes the Day for color, contrast, and cinematic quality. It’s like a movie still; the ambiance is terrific. Vitals: f/3.5, ISO 5400, 1/30 sec, 16mmm. From Anzio, where he still lives, Moyan works in information technology. He joined Flickr in June 2008. I also highly recommend his blog: “Earth in Colors“.
