We wrap up our three days focusing on the Leica X2 (see 312 and 313). Maybe it’s technique of the photographer’s I chose, or the camera. But I don’t find any of their photos shot using the camera to demonstrate the kind of IQ (e.g. image quality) I got from the older X1. More megapixels isn’t always better.
Self-titled “Balloons” is the best X2 render from the photostream of Matt Jiggins—and, yes, the kids are supposed to be out of focus. But I mainly picked the pic, taken on Feb. 26, 2013, for being interesting. Vitals: f/8, ISO 800, 1/1250 sec, 24mm. Matt’s street photography using the Leica M9 rangefinder is more compelling.
Matt, who is Canadian, shot today’s selection in Paris. The IT professional describes himself as “the geek with a creative mind, and a creative mind with a developer’s sense of order”. He joined Flickr in May 2007. You can also find him on Instagram and Twitter or his website. He lives in Amsterdam.
