Here’s another reason to like what my wife and I call the “1917 House“, for its street number. Today we walked past this mini-makeshift neighborhood along the property’s wall adjacent to the sidewalk. I had to stop for a single shot, the Featured Image, using Leica Q2. Vitals, aperture manually set: f/5.6, ISO 200, 1/125 sec, 28mm; 9:12 a.m. PDT.
I can’t appropriately express how charming are the many ways that residents of University Heights decorate homes or their yards (some cases fences and ledges). As one travels north of San Diego proper, single-family residences are architecturally similar enough to be indistinguishable. But the communities closer to the city, or along coastal areas, have much more character and individual distinction.
