I am a big fan of repurposing. Take that thing and use it another way. Even when buying something new, I look first for multi-purpose uses. What else can this thang be used for?
But I don’t know about this! I see the rationale, though, and can’t argue with it. One of my neighbors repurposed his Halloween decorations for Christmas. The Featured Image and companion tell the story.
I chuckled when seeing what someone had done to the (fake) dog skeletons. Then there is my gruesome, grim approval. Mutts quite likely outnumber people here in the otherwise fine village of University Heights.
San Diegans love their pets and too often replace them for Children. That’s how it looks when they form family groups—two, three, even four animals—walked by their owners. Dogs are allowed to pee anywhere. Gross! While poop is usually cleaned up, residue remains. These beasts leave behind filth, and rain falls too infrequently to wash it away.
So, yeah, I look at the skeleton decor, topped with Santa hats, and momentarily hope that good old Saint Nick takes something away rather than leaves something behind. If he doesn’t, coyotes might do the job. Reported sightings are way up.
Oh, by the way, this post’s title pays homage to the 1985 movie of the same name, which currently is available to stream on HBO Max.
