It is amazing the way the Web can be a great tool for history. The CBC—that’s Canadian Broadcasting Corporation—has a video clip of the John Lennon and Yoko Ono Bed-In, June 8, 1969. The video features a heated debate with American cartoonist Al Capp. I would have like to have been their to cap Capp. The Bed-In, which took place in Montreal, ended with the recording of “Give Peace a Chance”.
Video and audio quality of the clip could be better. But just the fact that CBC makes this kind of past TV content available is amazing. The approach makes sense. Rather than wall off video archives to paid subscribers, CBC makes it available to whomever. Good going, CBC.
