Oh happy day. Today’s selection is courtesy of search “smile”. Shumona Sharna snapped the photo on March 20, 2010—and it’s popular, with more than 13,000 views. She explains about the context: “Two boys were actually going down when I called them to look at me. When I told them to smile, they showed me the most precious thing in a life—smile”.
Spontaneity is among the qualities that the best street photographers share, and what self-titled “So Much for the Smile” so strongly evokes. Shumona shot the pic in “Feri “Ghat in Chittagong”, which is in Bangladesh, using Nikon D40X and 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. Vitals: f/4.5, ISO 400, 1/400 sec. 30.8mm. Her hometown is Dhaka, but she lives in Chittagong, which is about 249 km to the south. She joined Flickr in February 2009.
