Memorial Day arrives here in the United States—and a little earlier in May than is typical. What better way to celebrate than with self-titled “Flower-Sunrise”, which Tony Heyward captured on April 19, 2013, using the Pentax K-30. Vitals: f/22, ISO 800, 1/50 sec, 18mm. I chose the photo for color and composition. The foreground flower set against the bursting sun takes the Day.
Tony describes himself as a ” fine art photographer specializing in landscape, coastal, and nature photography based in the Wollondilly Shire including the Macarthur and Southern Highlands regions”—that’s Australia. “Fine art” is exactly my reaction to his Flickr, which he opened in August 2013. His photostream demands your attention, as does his website.
