Self-titled “21er Haus“, at Museum moderner Kunst, Wien (Museum of Modern Art) in Vienna, Austria—taken just 5 days ago—seemed sure to take the Day. Jakob Hürner used iPhone 5s, which produced a photo that is remarkably balanced set against sunlight streaming from behind.
But his album “Most Interesting on Flickr” led me to “Fischer am Nebeligen Erlaufsee”, which translates in English to something like “Fisher on Foggy Erlaufsee”—a lake in central Austria. Jakob captured the image on Nov. 15, 2006, using the Canon EOS 30D and EF 70-200mm f/4L USM lens. Vitals: f/7.1, ISO 160, 1/500 sec, 200mm. Something about the stark setting and compelling composition appeal to my sensibilities (and hopefully yours, too). Click through to the original and see this one full size to appreciate the detail captured by the L lens.
Jakob joined Flickr in February 2008 and describes himself as an “industrial engineer working in production management”, who is a “photography, social media, technology, and outdoor sports enthusiast”.
