Grandparent with a camera can be any child’s worst embarrassment. “OMG! He tagged me on Facebook”. Blame the family, which reignited the photographic passions of Jimmy Brown with his “first digital SLR, a Canon Rebel as a Christmas gift”. That fits with timing joining Flickr: December 2006.
But the grandkids needn’t worry about being the laughingstock of social media or middle school bullies. Jimmy describes his technique as “artography”—and it is, with some obvious post-processing assistance. Our Day taker is excellent example, and it’s a fabulous portrait. He thanks digital artist “Eddi van W. for the wonderful free texture” applied to the pic.
Jimmy shot self-titled “My Wonderful Cole” on July 7, 2012, using Nikon D7000 and 50mm f/1.4 lens. Vitals: f/5.6, ISO 100, 1/200 sec, 50mm.
