What could be more appropriate for Halloween than a black cat—and a frightening closeup? Dino Quinzani used Canon EOS 400D and Sigma 150mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM APO Macro lens to capture self-titled “Devil’s Eye” on March 30, 2007. Vitals, camera handheld, no tripod: f/2.8, ISO 400, 1/25 sec, 150mm. Narrow depth of field that puts the eye slightly out of focus adds ambience and emotion to the composition. If you eerily feel like the beast is looking at—no, hunting—you, raise your hand in affirmation with me.
From Brescia, Italy, Dino joined Flickr in October 2006. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been active since November 2014.
