Drizzle falls in my San Diego neighborhood of University Heights this fine Monday morning. Before the rain, while walking along the Alabama-Mississippi alley between Madison and Mission, I came across this old sofa—the kind of furniture one might see in an antiques store. On any other day, some scavenger driving a pickup truck would grab the couch, which woodwork looks pretty good to me. Other than fading from sunlight and age, the upholstery is seasoned rather than shabby, adding vintage appeal to the styling and workmanship.
I used iPhone XS to capture the Featured Image, which is cropped 3:2. Boosting highlights slightly changed the fabric’s hue, which otherwise is a bit closer to purple than to plumb. Vitals: f/1.8, ISO 25, 1/354 sec, 26mm (film equivalent); 10:17 a.m. PDT.
