A Family Affair

The sole Coneflower (if my identification is accurate) that I photographed last month is now a cluster. The grouping surprised me, since I saw no obvious signs that more might sprout. But here they are, in the Featured Image captured today using Leica Q2. Vitals, aperture manually set: f/4, ISO 100, 1/400 sec, 28mm; 9:17 a.m. PDT. Conditions: Marine-layer cloud cover. In post-production, I chose to maintain effect of the overcast lighting rather than significantly increase exposure.

The Coneflower family portrait is composed as shot, and I utilized the camera’s built-in Macro mode that is activated by turning a ring around the lens. The tallest of the grouping is the one first observed about two weeks ago. Oh, how fast they grow.
