Flickr a Day 36: ‘Photography is Not a Crime’

Fresh and free is how I describe the photographic style of Argentinian Xava du (@xavadu around social networks). He joined Flickr in April 2007, and his pics with the most style are from that year and the next; posts abruptly stop in Spring 2013,

But he’s not absent. His Twitter is current, and there is the Xava Photography site. Xava du’s profession is web developer, and he presently lives in Krakow, Poland. He used Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi to capture today’s selection: self-titled “Photography is Not a Crime”, which refers to a website of the same name. If you shoot photos or videos anywhere in public, PINAC is a valuable resource for understanding your rights and what are some of the current incidents where photographers or videographers clash with public entities—law enforcement among them.

Xava captured this image on April 12, 2008. Vitals: f/5.6, ISO 100, 1/500, 49mm. The two different shooters juxtapose brilliantly. What’s not to like? There are good reasons this photo has more than 40,000 views.
