In making today’s selection, I looked for something that would be quite different from the past three days of United States Marines. Julia Eckert provides just that, with “Zeit ist eine Schnellstraße zwischen Wiege und Grab”, which according to Google Translate is “Time is an Expressway Between Cradle and Grave” in English. The photo is the challenge of stillness—photographer and subject—against motion. The slow shutter speed and low ISO tell the story.
Julia used Canon EOS 60D and 18-50mm lens to capture this lonely looking moment on Nov. 2, 2014. Vitals: f/8, ISO 125, 15 sec, 18mm. The composition catches my attention and won’t release it.
Julia joined Flickr in June 2011, but has expanded beyond its confines. You can also find her on Facebook, Google+, and Instagram, where posting is most current and consistent. She also maintains a website. Specializing in profile photography, she is from Heidelberg, Germany.
