Do you remember Occupy Wall Street—or care about the protest? Four years ago today, police dispersed the crowd camped out in New York City’s Zuccotti Park for nearly two months. David Shankbone captured the moment in a series of photos. I picked this pic for composition, contrast, subject’s expression—the ambivalent-looking cop cast against the oldster with sign—and for the day captured.
David used the Pentax K-x, about an hour after protesters returned to the park to confront police following their eviction. Vitals: f/8, ISO 1600, 1/125 sec, 18mm. From NYC, he joined Flickr in June 2008.
