While walking down Alabama Street today, something scurried by brush to my right—Bruce, who was profiled in my “Cats of University Heights” series during May 2017. The fairly diminutive tabby treed a squirrel, and it was of significant size, too. I confess to interfering simply by being present, which kept the prey from going to ground and led the pursuer to back off into the shrubbery.
I used Leica Q2 to capture the Featured Image, at 10:09 a.m. PDT. Vitals, aperture manually set: f/5.6, ISO 160, 1/125 sec, 28mm. I didn’t stay long enough to see the outcome but presume that the squirrel safely escaped.
