Three words describe the photography of Roland C. Vogt. Stark. Somber. Sad. Colors and hue evoke how I often imagined Eastern Europe looked like before the Wall fell in Germany, where he is from (Freiburg but lives in Ohlsbach, about 72 km north) .
Roland’s street style is compelling—evocative—which today’s selection reflects, but not that Germany-during-the Cold-War feeling I describe. By profession, he is an intellectual property attorney specializing in copyrights, patents, and trademarks. Many of the photos that I most prefer are All Rights Reserved. While this series is careful about copyrights, well, it’s best not to violate them when featuring a lawyer. 🙂
Roland shot self-titled “Lost” on Aug. 16, 2013, using Olympus OM-D E-M5 and M. Zuiko Digital ED 45mm f/1.8 Lens. Vitals: f/2.2, ISO 200, 1/1250 sec. In 2015, he shoots with the E-M5 Mark II. He joined Flickr in September 2010.
