The mystery: Is this creature in the tree bark a new addition, or has it been there since Halloween and I hadn’t noticed when walking by dozens of times? One wonders. I captured the Featured Image using Leica Q2 Monochrom, today. Vitals, aperture manually set: f/2, ISO 200, 1/4000 sec, 28mm; 9:02 a.m. PDT; composed as shot. Location: North Ave. between Meade and Monroe in San Diego’s University Heights neighborhood.
After taking the photo you see, I made another at f/5.6. But the greater field of focus distracts from the subject. Hence my choice.
