Photojounalism evokes some of the best storytelling. Because what are the pics about other than tales to tell? Alongside his professional business, Zach Frailey works part-time for the Kinston Free Press. “Two Sport Athlete” takes the Day for being interesting, even without the self-title or caption. You look and wonder: Why is the football athlete holding a basketball?

“Donyae Hopkins, who is a running back on the Hawks’ football team, has now transitionined into basketball season”, Zach explains about the photo taken on Dec. 6, 2013, at North Lenoir High School in La Grange, N.C. Leap ahead 12 months, and the Free Press names Donyae “2014 Offensive Player of the Year“. He starts college here in Southern California in about a month, BTW.

Zach used Nikon D600 and 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 lens to capture our Day taker. Vitals: f/3.5, ISO 500, 1/200 sec, 24mm. From Elderton, Penn., he lives in New Bern, N.C., and joined Flickr in January 2008. The better showcase of his portfolio is personal website The Uprooted Photographer.
