Four days ago, my wife dropped me off at the doctor’s office for a strep test. Following several days of sore throat, I started having night sweats and then swollen lymph glands (in my neck). The whole slumber-time perspiration thing is surprising. I only recall experiencing such a thing when developing mononucleosis during my senior year of high school (from which I graduated four decades ago in June). Of course, the swab would turn up negative for the infection, so the cause is likely another bacteria or virus.
I walked the nearly 5 km (about 3 miles) home; excellent exercise. Along the way, on the alley-side of a building at El Cajon and Utah, I spotted a compelling mural by RodVilla Pintoresco. Early this evening, being it’s the third Friday of the month, the property, The Boulevard Center, will transform into the BLVD Market. Festive food, musical entertainment, and street shopping are among the highlights. I have never participated, but really should go at least once.
