On Oct. 26, 2016, while walking down Meade Ave. from Cleveland and talking to my youngest sister on iPhone 7 Plus, I spotted a Halloween cat—being black, of course. 🙂 I asked her to wait, pulled away the phone, and launched the camera app by sweeping left from the home screen. I shot four pics—two of them after tapping once to switch to the 2X telephoto.
Coincidentally, the owner drove up as I finished, and he started up the steps. Explaining my photographic intentions, I asked the kitty’s name. Pee-Pee. Could he spell that? Like it sounds. She got the name for peeing six times on his bed the night he brought her home. Oh my!
Featured Image vitals: f/2.8, ISO 20, 1/141 sec, 6.6mm. I shot the portrait at 5:23 p.m. PDT—or about 38 minutes before sunset. I cropped the photo for composition and lightened the shadows to draw detail from Pee-Pee’s fur.
Other felines in this series: Scruffy, Roly Poly, Woo, Skull, Biscuit, The Colonel, White, Chipper, Frisky, Stretch, Needy, Farfisa, Mates, and Hunter.
