When Color is Better

Louisiana Street frenemies Ash and Nelson hang out on Jan. 9, 2021. I regretted carrying along Leica Q2 Monochrom, because their portrait would have been so much better in color. Nelson’s orange fur really pops against the green grass. Black and white robs something from the composition. This is only the seventh photo taken with the camera, which came into my possession on Dec. 28, 2020.

I captured the Featured Image at 2:31 a.m. PST. Vitals, aperture manually set: f/5.6, ISO 200, 1/250 sec, 28mm. The two cats share the same block with: Angelo, Daniel Tiger, Darth Mew, FluffyHuck, Mr. FrankiePeach, and Pepto—that I know of. Possibly passed away, moved away, or kept indoors: GingerJedi, Milo, and Princess Leia. I see Daniel Tiger most days; separately, Huck and Pepto yesterday.
